Shade
perennials and full shade perennials give life for years to
areas of the garden that are unable to grow other plants.
These areas include underneath decks and porches, or along
side a fence that blocks the sun most or all of the day.
One of
the most common shade perennials is the hosta. This shade
perennial has large leaves, and needs almost no care. As long
as the ground is moist, the plant will thrive. There are also
hostas which are full shade perennials, and require even less
care. These plants make excellent protection from soil erosion
as well as give a bit of color and life to shaded areas of
a garden.
