Perennial Flowers
Flowering perennials are a common addition to a garden. These plants will return year after year to add color and life. Perennial flowers come in many different colors and styles. Many perennial flowers will not bloom the first season after planting. This is due to the plant focusing its energy on strengthening the root system for the upcoming winter. In the second year, the perennial flowers are ready to bloom.

One of the flashiest of the perennial flowers is the daylily. These perennial flowers are generally easy to care for, and add years of bright, bold color to any garden. The blooms vary by species and range from white to yellow to bright red in color. This flowering perennial will thrive almost anywhere and spread very easily.

Another flowering perennial is the geranium. This perennial flower grows in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist soil, but is drought tolerant. The bloom of the geranium plant is white to bright purple and everything in between. These perennial flowers grow in mounds, and look like small bushes with bright colored blooms.

Perennial flowers will add a touch of class and color to any garden. There is a flowering perennial for every color of the rainbow. The extra cost up-front for a perennial flower will seem ungainly at first, but the years of enjoyment will easily outweigh this.
